About Ruby
Art and creativity have been something I have loved from my earliest memories. My number one desire as a child was to be a full time artist.
For many years I dove into other creative endeavors such as photography, the hair industry, floral design, and creativity while traveling/mission work.
However, my true passion of painting kept calling me back and I knew I had to give it my all.
I began my full time business in 2023 as a professional artist and haven’t looked back since!
I currently reside in Indianapolis, Indiana with my husband and our three cats.
The Why
Movement is a sign of life - and truly, the anchor of each piece of art that I create. It serves as a gentle reminder to arise and LIVE.
If you’ve ever seen “The Secret Garden”, the theme of this movie is a constant source of inspiration for my work. In the movie this family finds a garden tucked away and forgotten, and as they restore the garden, all that they were carrying ends up shedding off and life is found in healing. This is so much of what the Lord has done in my life through meeting in the secret place with Him.
I find that many of us can easily fall into to the lull of the day to day business of our lives. Many of us through either pain we’ve experienced or choices we’ve even made ourselves have turned off parts of who we are - or have never had the pleasure of meeting ourselves in our fullness. I believe we were created out of goodness and life is about shedding off all of who we were never meant to b e- and reminding everyone else that they get to do the same.
But choosing to REALLY live - and stay ‘awake’ and present while it is ever growing easier to sleep through life is a choice. It is not always easy; however so, so worth the effort.
I am far from figuring things out - and am in constant process. I’m still meeting parts of myself I didn’t know about, and trying to make the daily choice of awakeness. My hope is that through my art you will feel encouraged and reminded to step out of the status quo and embrace all that your life can be.
“Awake, awake, put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city..”
“Rise from the dust, O Jerusalem. Sit in a place of honor. Remove the chains of slavery from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.”
Isaiah 52:1-2
